ON A SHAPE IDENTIFICATION PROBLEM
Journal Title: ROMANIAN JOURNAL OF TECHNICAL SCIENCES - APPLIED MECHANICS - Year 2010, Vol 55, Issue 3
Abstract
An inverse method using a genetic algorithm and a quasi-Newton method is presented in this paper. We consider the problem of identifying a finite elastic airfilled hollow body of unknown shape embedded in a compressible, inviscid homogeneous fluid, based on the concept of time reversal invariance. A nonlinear model describes the acoustical signature of the scatterer. Numerical simulation is carried out for several examples to illustrate the efficiency of the method.

REACTION FORCES IN PARALLEL MECHANISM PAIRS
To calculate the links dimensions of a parallel mechanism, is necessary to determine the distribution of forces from its kinematic pairs. Also, the performance of such a mechanism can be evaluated after calculating the d...
ON THE RESPONSE OF THE CAR FROM ROAD DISTURBANCES
The tire/road contact dynamics is investigated in this paper by assuming a rocky road. The vehicle model to be used in simulation is a seven degree of freedom full-car model. The contact domain between the tire and the r...
TUBULAR THIN-WALLED ENERGY ABSORBING STRUCTURES WITH TRIGGERS – RECENT ADVANCES
In the present paper the state of art review concerning recent advances in research into crashworthiness performance and energy absorption capacity of tubular thin-walled energy absorbing structures with triggers promoti...
AN INTRODUCTION TO DSmT. FIRST PART
The management and combination of uncertain, imprecise, fuzzy and even paradoxical or highly conflicting sources of information has always been, and still remains today, of primal importance for the development of reliab...
INVARIANT CHARACTERIZING THERMALLY ACTIVATED PLASTIC FLOW
Thermal activation leads to a reduction of the flow stress below the athermal value (the zero Kelvin flow stress). The ratio between the flow stress at a given temperature and the athermal stress (at given material struc...
