Comparison of perspective of children with major thalassemia and their parents about their quality of life in Shahrekord

Abstract
Background and aim: In addition to control of the disease, improvement of quality of life is important for treatment of the patients suffering from bleeding disorders such as thalassemia. The impact of thalassemia and its complications on the quality of life of these patients and parents perspective has been little studied. Therefore, the aim of this study was to compare the perspective of children with thalassemia and their parents about the quality of life of these children. Methods: In this descriptive–analytical study, the quality of life of 39 children with thalassemia referred to Hajar hospital of Shahrekord was studied using a quality of life questionnaire (pedSQL). Opinions of the children and their parents about physical, social, emotional and school functions of the children were collected. The data was analyzed using t-test, Manvitni and Hebsti Spirman tests.
