COMPARISON OF WEAR FRICTION PAIRS IN REFRIGERATION COMPRESSORS IN ADVERSE OPERATING CONDITIONS

Journal Title: Tribologia - Year 2012, Vol 243, Issue 3

Abstract

Taking into consideration the varying rules concerning the use of substances impoverishing the ozone layer, some new refrigerating media has been introduced into the refrigeration devices and refrigeration installations. The moving parts of the refrigeration compressors are subjected to wear processes depending on a mixture of oil and the new refrigerating medium. As there is no universal oil for the refrigeration compressors at the moment; therefore, it was decided to examine an effect of the mixture of oil and the refrigeration medium on the wear of refrigeration compressor elements. In order to determine the effect, a test stand for examining the wear processes in the refrigeration compressors was designed. The paper presents some experimental results of the wear of friction nodes for a real refrigeration compressor. The examinations were performed on a test stand consisting of real refrigeration elements. On this stand, some disadvantageous compressor operating conditions can be simulated. The analysis of wear consisted of a comparison of the surface roughness profiles before and after the tests. To analyse wear, the following moving elements of the compressor were selected: piston and piston cylinder.
