COMPETENCE AS A SOCIO-PSYCHOLOGICAL PHENOMENON

Abstract
In article is observed competence as Cultural-historical and Socially-psychological phenomenon, that define demands to training of specialists. In the field of higher education, the problem of the formation of competence has become particularly relevant in recent decades. The report provides an analysis of pedagogical research that shows how scholars were mostly engaged in the study of individual aspects of professional competence. An attempt is made to analyze the conceptual positions on the specified themes. It is determined that professionalism is not limited to competence, it includes other important qualities. Competence within the framework of professional activity was supplemented by the formation of socio-political, organizational qualities. The evidence is given to attempt to assess the correlation between the concepts of "professionalism" and "competence" in socio-psychology.
