COMPETENCY APPROACH IN THE PROCESS OF STUDYING FINANCIAL LITERACY IN THE GYMNASIUMS AND LYCEUMS

Abstract
The article defines the concepts of “competence” and “financial literacy” and their significance in the formation of scientific and practical knowledge pupils in conditions of economic socialization of pupils, in forming role financial competencies. Pupils in the field of financial literacy of the country’s population have determined the urgency of the problem of the systematic introduction of educational scientific and methodological developments to improve it in the practice of school economic education, because the lack of key competencies in personal finance related to the presentation of the technology of saving money, lending and insurance in the financial market, safe investment, tax discipline, an adequate assessment of financial risks, leads to the fact that the number of illiterate people rer and investors, as well as unreliable lenders supplemented by representatives of the younger generation. In this regard, one of the important areas of school economic education is active participation in the introduction of courses in the curriculum that allow students to obtain basic competences in the field of financial culture.
