CONCEPT OF DEVELOPMENT OF TRANSIT POTENTIAL OF UKRAINIAN RAILWAYS IN THE CONTEXT OF EXPANSION OF TRANSBORDER COOPERATION

Abstract
The article states that the main trend of the current stage of development of international transport policy is the expansion of cross-border transport cooperation between countries. It has been determined that, despite the enormous transit possibilities of rail transport, Ukraine is not able to effectively integrate into the system of trans-European transport links and international infrastructure cooperation. On this basis, the dynamics of transportation of transit cargoes by railway of Ukraine is analyzed and the main reasons for falling of its level are grouped according to the level of influence: global, national and intra-industry. The concept of developing the transit potential of Ukrainian railways in the context of expanding cross-border cooperation, which identifies key directions and tools for its growth through deepening of cross-border cooperation.
