CONCEPTS AND EMERGING TRENDS IN MANAGEMENT OF LOCALLY ADVANCED BREAST CANCER

Abstract

BACKGROUND LABC (Locally Advanced Breast Cancer) comprises of a subset of invasive breast malignancies, where the clinical and radiological assessment ascertains confinement of the disease to breast and regional lymph nodes. The present article, besides discussing the diagnostic workup and assessment of LABC, also covers in detail the different treatment modalities and their controversial role in treatment of LABC. Also discussed are different surgical options and options for breast reconstruction following mastectomy
