Conditions for using digital isolators in intrinsically safe applications
Journal Title: Mining – Informatics, Automation and Electrical Engineering - Year 2017, Vol 529, Issue 1
Abstract
This article highlights the issues related to the use of the galvanic separation of digital circuits by employing modern digital isolators in intrinsically safe applications. The authors refer to the requirements of suitable standards and directives and present their interpretation. They also identified limitations related to the use of digital isolators in intrinsically safe circuits.

Experimental mechanical security assessment used in torsionally flexible Raptor-SK couplings
Dodge®Raptor series couplings belong to inseparable, mechanical, and torsionally flexible couplings with the possibility of compensating for the misalignment of axes. In the couplings with the Raptor-SK design, shear pin...
Digitization of Polish mining industry by reducing costs and improving safety and quality of finished product
This paper presents the current level of digitization of the Polish mining industry on examples of copper and hard coal mines. A proposal to digitize the individual business processes in mining production was presented....
Monitoring of loads in arch support with wire strain gauge
A concept of measuring the load and geometry of a roadway support with the use of vibrating wire strain gauges and draw-wire sensors is presented. Laboratory and in-situ tests of complete frames of arch supports under lo...
Numerical simulation of underground coal gasification process in “Barbara” Experimental Mine
This article presents the results of a numerical simulation of the possibility of the underground gasification process of a coal seam located in the “Barbara” Experimental Mine. The purpose of the analyses was to predict...
Computer-aided design of cutting heads
The design of cutting heads is a complex process in which it is necessary to perform multiple recalculations of complicated formulas and to correct the assumptions of input data. The purpose is to provide high efficiency...
