CONGENITAL MACRODACTYLY: A CASE REPORT
Journal Title: INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF PURE MEDICAL RESEARCH - Year 2019, Vol 4, Issue 7
Abstract
Macrodactyly is an increase in the size of one or several ngers or toes. It is characterized by an increase in all mesenchymal elements particularly bro-adipose tissue. This should be distinguished from secondary digital/limb enlargement that occurs in vascular anomalies or as a result of other syndromes. The accepted treatment is reduction of the bro-fatty bulk via dissection and ablation to obtain a cosmetic and functional foot.
