Consolidation of political-party Hungary's space in the period post-socialist transformation

Abstract

The article deals with the processes of establishment and development of political parties’ pluralism in post-socialist Hungary. The author points out institutional revolution of Hungarian party system during democratic transformation (1989–2016), it being as follows: initial multiparty system, the mild pluralism system, party pluralism on the double coalition basis, and dominant party system. The article also elucidates the party system’s centralisation factors according to the results of recent parliamentary elections (2010, 2014).
