CONTEMPORARY PROBLEMS OF THE IMPLEMENTATION OF MULTILATERAL INTERNATIONAL AGREEMENTS DEVOTED TO NON-NAVIGATIONAL USE AND PROTECTION OF TRANSBOUNDARY RESHWATER SYSTEMS OF EUROPE (RHINE, DANUBE AND LAKE CONSTANCE BASINS)

Abstract
The author explores the international legal mechanisms governing cooperation between the states of Danube, Rhine and Constance basins. The content of multilateral and bilateral agreements is analysed, the main areas of work of international river commissions are examined, the advantages and shortcomings of contemporary international legal systems in the sphere of non-navigational use and protection of these basins are determined. In the conclusions the author outlines the challenges that the respective states are facing now.
