Contract as a legal means: on the issue of functional nature of the contract

Abstract
The article analyzes the problems of understanding the contract as an element of the system of legal means in terms of its functional characteristics. Modern interpretation of the contract is provided from the position of legal instrument-establishment and legal means-technology.
