CONTRIBUTIONS ON THE KNOWLEGE OF THE ROMAN CITY OF APULUM. RESCUE ARCHAEOLOGICAL RESEARCHES AT ALBA IULIA-DECEBAL STREET NO.25 (ALBA COUNTY)

Abstract

The present paper deal with the results of a rescue archaeological researches, developed in Alba Iulia-Decebal Street, No.25. The aim of the research was the liberating from archaeological materials the parcel where was planed to build apartments. The researches had revealed a house dating from roman times, with a lot of divides. The walls of house were made from river stones and cement (opus cementitum). One of the compartments had revealed a heating device very good preserved (hypocaust type). After the complete uncover of the heating device were revealed more than 77 pylons (pilae) made from bricks and also the floor of the house (opus signinum II). At the suggestion of patrimonies institution and of the National Commission of Archaeology, the monument discovered will be classified on the list of archaeological sites. Also, in the next future the monument will be restored and preserved like the legislation ask.
