Corporate governance in Russian business groups – ownership structure

Abstract
Business groups play significant role in Russian economy. They are also very interesting research subject in corporate governance context. The ownership structure is one of the crucial corporate governance mechanisms. The article discusses results of ownership structure research in Russian business groups. The state and other companies are main owners of the greatest business groups in Russia. Ownership structure in business groups is very contentrated, including holding and subsidiary companies.
