CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY IN ASIAN COUNTRIES

Abstract

The purpose of this article is studying of modern CSR practices among Asian’s countries. During the investigation the chronological, comparative and statistical meth¬ods were used. Different models and approaches to the introduction and implementation of CSR’s practices in Central and Eastern Asia were analyzed. Common and specific fea¬tures in companies’ practice in Japan, China, Singapore and Kazakhstan were identified. The materials of the article could be used by representatives of business, government and civil society. Corporate social responsibility has great potential for development in Central and Eastern Asia, but today there are many misunderstandings on this issue, especially regarding the definition and interpretation of the CSR’s concept. In all these countries CSR’s concept continues to develop. The essence of the concept is basically understood by foreign companies, which also trigger many social projects. Many of these projects have a one-time image character. It should be expected that the concept of CSR in Asian countries will develop towards match international experience and standards in the field of socially responsible business.
