Cosmopolitanism - pros and cons, or searches for a new European identity

Abstract
The article proposes to the consideration the critical analysis of the cosmopolitan idea’s notion, its perspectives and possibilities based on the global changes in understanding of the western civilization’s identity. The text gives arguments for and against the global world system which is ideologically grounded on the cosmopolitan worldview.
