Creation of phraseological variants by lexical replacement in Azerbaijani language

Abstract
One or more of components that forms phrase-ological unit makes up other phraseological variant with the same meaning by replacing with the synonym and non-synonym words, this process is called lexical replacement. In lexical replacement, one common component must be preserved between phraseological unit and formed variant. Lexical replacement process is widespread in phraseology system of the Azerbaijani language. This process plays an active role in the formation of phraseological variant range. The effect of dialects is one of the factors contributing lexical replacement process.
