CRIMINAL LAW DURING PKWN PERIOD: HESTATIONS AND DECISIONS

Abstract
In 1944 Red Army of the Soviet Union entered Polish territory. At that point, it was July 1944, on behalf of Stalin, in Moscow, a group of “Polish” communists set up Polish Committee of the National Liberation or PKWN. In fact, PKWN played a role of the Polish Government. During the whole WWII, the legal Polish Government in exile was in London. PKWN created, among others, a new criminal law. `e criminal law according to PKWN was used for the new tasks: support of the communistic system and #ght against the political opposition. Judicial system was converted into an disciplined state machinery and was used to destroy the individuals dangerous for the new regime. New criminal law was partly based on the law of the Soviet Union.<br/><br/>
