CRITERIA AND LEVEL APPROACH TO DIAGNOSING THE FOREIGN LANGUAGES TEACHER’S PROFESSIONAL IMAGE

Abstract
The article deals with the analysis of theoretical and methodological foundations of the criterion and level approach to pedagogical phenomena measuring as well as with working out the criterion basis for diagnosing the Foreign languages teacher’s professional image. The researches on the problem of determining the criteria, indicators and levels of pedagogues’ professional image are analyzed. The author’s approach to determining the criteria, indicators and levels of the Foreign languages teacher’s professional image based on understanding the criterion as a measure of pedagogical phenomenon is represented. The requirements to the criteria of the foreign languages teacher’s professional image are substantiated. Objectivity, reliability, simplicity and convenience of measurement, consistency with the professional image components, adequacy, additivity, interdependence of the criterion with indicators are among them.
