Crosstalk of brassinosteroids with other phytohormones under various abiotic stresses
Journal Title: Journal of Applied Biology & Biotechnology - Year 2018, Vol 6, Issue 1
Abstract
Brassinosteroids (BRs) are the most important growth hormones which are steroidal in nature play crucially involved in growth and progressions of the plant. In recent years, advancements done in accessibility of biological possessions and approaches led to the most applicable mechanisms involved in BRs de novo synthesis, translocation and signaling pathways. The current researchers are also associated with the flexible roles of BRs. From the previous studies, it was manifest that BRs interaction with salicylic acid, abscisic acid, auxin, gibberellin, ethylene, cytokinin, and jasmonic acid in controlling numerous morphophysiological processes in plants. In this section, an effort is made to understand mysterious development and growth-linked either directly or not directly to BRs signaling and its intra- and interrelations with various phytohormones. This, in sequence, will support emerging extrapolative representations to moderate various valuable qualities in plants and address current encounters in agriculture.
In vitro Propagation of Rhododendron griffithianum Wt.: An Endangered Rhododendron Species of Sikkim Himalaya
A reproducible protocol for in vitro propagation of R. griffithianum has been established. Multiple shoot proliferation from shoot-tip explants was occurred in the presence of 2-isopentenyl adenine (2-iP) alone or in com...
Determination of phytochemical, antioxidant, antimicrobial, and protein binding qualities of hydroethanolic extract of Celastrus paniculatus
The study was performed to check the chemical, antioxidant, antimicrobial, and protein binding qualities of the hydroethanolic extract of Celastrus paniculatus (CP). Hydroethanolic extract of CP exhibited low antibacteri...
Developing of transgenic wheat cultivars for improved disease resistance
Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) and (Triticum turgidum L.) are largely cultivated in the world. They are economically important because they can be grown in a wide range of climates and geographic regions. Wheat plants are...
Aroclor 1254 induced oxidative stress and histopathological changes in mice liver
The toxicity of polychlorinated biphenyls in the living systems is associated with oxidative effects among others. In view of the involvement of antioxidant defense mechanisms in the detoxification of persistent organic...
Properties of phenoloxidase from haemocytes of Scylla tranquebarica
The presence of phenoloxidase (PO) activity in the haemocytes of Scylla tranquebarica was electrophoretically and spectrophotometrically studied. Majority of the enzyme was located as proenzyme, prophenoloxidase (proPO)...
