Cultural determinants of the global and local media operations

Abstract

The article outlines the global and local media functioning within social and cultural transformations. It presents the process of development and operation of said media in a selectionof scientific concepts of various writers: educationalists, sociologists, and psychologists. The concepts illustrate the multitude of suggestions and approaches of the media sphere research. The media form a large part of cultural reality, whereas their influence upon numerous areas of human activity is constantly expanding and growing. Media expansion, including environmental media, may be used in the promotion and spread of cultural diversity of each and every nation and cultural minority.
