CULTUROLOGICAL ASPECTS OF A. MAKARENKO'S PEDAGOGY

Abstract
The attempt to consider the pedagogical system of A. Makarenko with the use of culturological approaches has been made in the article. The author carries out the summarised analysis of the pedagogical theory and practice of A. Makarenko in terms of nationhood principle of pedagogy, national mentality and historical tradition. The key to success and pedagogical result of his pedagogy appears to lie in the fact that A. Makarenko’s pedagogy is not contradictory to traditional character and sense of the folk pedagogy. His pedagogy is the pedagogy of people; it reflects the traits of the folk's spirit and character. The central place of the A. Makarenko's pedagogy – the collective. Collectivism (conciliarity) is a pure Slavic phenomenon originating from Orthodoxy. It explains the spirituality and attributes of great power statehood. A. Makarenko's doctrine of the collective is not a supremacy of collective over a personality, but the instrument of the personality formation and development. That is exactly what accounts for humanism of A. Makarenko's pedagogy and its social significance. Complementation of culturological values into the education system represents also the personal pedagogical experience of A. Makarenko and his pedagogical intuition. He, being brought up in the Orthodox traditions, created the educational model that corresponded to the national character. The culturological nature of A. Makarenko's pedagogy and its practical value appears also in that his pedagogy is universal – not only about the children collective. It is the pedagogy of any collective. Its universality lies exactly in its culturological nature; A. Makarenko's pedagogy represents the deep traits of the national mentality.
