Abstract
Objective — to assessment of the situation regarding the treatment of cough symptom in common diseases of the bronchopulmonary system in accordance with new guidelines and clinical guidelines. Materials and methods. Test access to a variety of abstract databases was used. Results and discussion. A leading and clinically significant symptom in the frequency of referral to a respiratory system remains cough is the cause of referrals to a family physician by 34 % of adult patients and 20 % of visits by patients of all ages. Today there are more than 50 different causes of cough. In adults, it is more often productive cough, accompanied by sputum, and in many patients it is chronic, as a symptom of the underlying disease. The most widely represented in the pharmaceutical market is a group of expectorants — expectorants and mucolytics. Proper selection of cough suppressants is the key to reducing complications and successful compliance without reducing quality of life. Respix® spray is the only one in Ukraine 5 % solution of ambroxol in the form of a dosage spray with mucolytic and analgesic effects. It is the European standards for the treatment of the respiratory tract and the optimal choice of the drug for the treatment of cough, reducing the disease and reducing the risk of complications, especially for acute viral respiratory infections/flu. Conclusions. Optimization of treatment standards by improving monotherapy (the systemic effects of a single drug for the simultaneous correction of a range of impaired pathophysiological functions) is a major priority of respiratory medicine. Successful choice of drug for the treatment of cough symptom is the key to successful compliance.
