Current problems of ensuring food security in Ukraine and their solutions

Abstract
The paper examines the current state of food security in Ukraine on certain criteria, including the analysis of agro-food production in crop and livestock sectors, dynamics of food consumption of country population, structure of its expenditures, indicators of food consumption sufficiency and import dependency etc. The problems in the formation of proper food security system are identified, taking into account the features of their manifestation in modern socio-economic and political conditions. The directions of state policy on food security in Ukraine are determined, such as: balancing of the domestic agricultural market, development of material and technical base of agricultural production, ensuring income growth of population, etc.
