DELAYS IN CONSTRUCTION WORKS

Abstract
Despite numerous tools supporting construction process management, delays frequently occur in construction projects. Previous studies have pointed out that proper identification of construction delays depends on determination of reasons for delays, who is responsible and who will be in charge of a delay. In the authors’ opinion, the factors influencing construction delays can be divided into three categories: human factors, factors connected with the terms and conditions of a contract and unforeseeable factors.Questionnaire surveys were conducted among consulting companies to find the most significant problems causing construction delays. The above conclusions can be helpful in minimizing delays occurrence risks.
