DESIGN AND PERFORMANCE EVALUATION OF STEPPED THREADED PIN FIN AND COMPARISON WITH NON THREADED STEPPED PIN FIN
Journal Title: International Journal of Mechanical and Production Engineering Research and Development (IJMPERD ) - Year 2017, Vol 7, Issue 1
Abstract
In this project experimental investigation of stepped threaded pin fin heat transfer has been done using the materials brass. Out of these two, one is stepped threaded and other is stepped pin fin. The objective of this project is to determine the effectiveness and efficiency of stepped threaded pin fin and its comparison with fin like cylindrical experimentally. Also a detailed comparison of how much heat transfer takes places. On comparing it is found that the surface area of threaded pin fin is increased by 5.8 % from without threaded pin fin. Temperature drop in stepped threaded fin is more than stepped fin. From calculation experimental efficiency is more in case of stepped threaded compare to smooth fin

The Mathematical Modelling and Performance Evaluation of Paint Manufacturing System using Fuzzy Reliability Approach
In the present paper, we present a novel method for performance evaluation of a paint manufacturing plant in which five subsystems are connected in series configuration. The mathematical modelling of the system is carrie...
EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION ON INFLUENCE OF FUNCTIONALIZED MULTI-WALLED CARBON NANOTUBES ON SURFACE ROUGHNESS IN DRILLING OF CFRP COMPOSITES
This paper presents the effect of carboxyl functionalised multi-walled carbon nanotubes on the surface roughness of drilled holes in carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) laminates. Drilling tests were conducted on CFRP...
Studies in Surface Finishing of Inconel718 Flat Surface with Magnetic Abrasive Finishing
With technological developments in manufacturing industry, very hard and tough materials are being developed. Inconel 718 is one such material, which is a nickel based super alloy having high temperature and high-pressur...
Heat Transfer Analysis using CFD Tools an Literature based Review
Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) is commonly used in engineering procedures for fixing and modeling and modeling complicated manufacturing apps. However, simulation time is too lengthy and time is dramatically shortene...
A Fiber-Chip-Fiber Opto-Mechanical Framework of all-Optical Switch with Ultra High Annihilation Proportion
We propose and tentatively show an all-optical switch given a fibre-chip-fibre optomechanical framework driven by warm radiation. The two optical filaments are both composed of versatile cantilever structures with a free...
