Design & characterization of candesartan Celexetil loaded solid lipid nanoparticles for effective management against CVS disorders

Journal Title: Indian Journal of Research in Pharmacy and Biotechnology - Year 2015, Vol 3, Issue 2

Abstract

The present work aims to formulate solid lipid nanoparticles loaded with candesartan celexetil for the increase in the efficiency against cardio vascular disorders and increase the retention time to control the fluctuation of drug. FT-IR studies of the pure drug candesartan celexitil and its physical mixture showed no discrepancy indicating the compatibility. High speed homogenization technique using Ultra Turrax T25 IKA homogenizer was adopted for formulating the solid lipd nanoparticles containg candesartan celexetil. GMO & surfactants such as poloxamer188 and Tween80 were used as the key excipients by varying their concentration. Evalauation reports indicated that the maximum entrapment efficiency was achieved with formulations F7&F8 which were 70% and 76% respectively. First order kinetics ascertaining peppas mechanisn was followed by all the formulations. F8 was considered as the optimized formulation based on its profile. The results obtained were promising for effective action against CVS disorders.
