Design Optimization of Analog Active Circuits Using the Genetic Algorithm
Journal Title: Acta Technica Napocensis- Electronica-Telecomunicatii (Electronics and Telecommunications) - Year 2012, Vol 53, Issue 4
Abstract
This paper presents an optimization tool for the design of analog circuits implemented with commercially-available discrete devices. It takes into consideration the standard values available for the passive components, as well as the nonidealities of commercially-available active devices. The multi-criteria optimization is based on a genetic algorithm developed in Matlab specifically for this task, that works in conjunction with components of the OrCAD package, namely the OrCAD CIS Capture and PSpice. The effectiveness of the proposed procedure is demonstrated by a real-life example, the optimized design of a fourth-order low-pass filter implemented with Operational Amplifiers and discrete resistors and capacitors.

Feedback Control vs. Integrated Control. A Case Study: Variable Volume Room Experimental Benchmark
Systems are in continuous diversification of their application domains and functioning specification requirements. Now, control systems’ development is mainly oriented towards completing of conventional feedback control...
Global Blur Assessment and Blurred Region Detection in Natural Images
In this paper we present a global no-reference blur metric based on a local approach of blur detection in natural macro-like images. The purpose is to study the possibility of global assessment based on thedetection of b...
Characterization Of Small Cells Networks Deployment Options And Their Impact Upon Macro-Cellular Networks
This paper investigates the effect of small cells networks deployment in a typical traditional macro-cellular mobile communications network. The main deployment options are presented and their impact is shown for the cas...
Watermarking Based on the Hyperanalytic Wavelet Transform
In this paper we present a new technique for watermarking in the hyperanalytic wavelet domain. This has the advantage of better directional selectivity and shift invariance compared to the classical wavelet filter. The w...
A Study of the Permutation Schemes Used in the Mobile WIMAX
With the goal of decreasing the interference at sub-carrier level, the allocation of sub-carrier frequencies in an OFDMA based system is selective. This selective allocation can be seen like a permutation of a frequency...
