Designing effective personnel acquisition and selection process

Abstract
The personnel selection has a key position in the process of human resources management of an organization. This is due to the fact that it determines not only the possibilities of a company growth and its market position, but also has a substantial impact on the implementation of other functions and personnel procedures. This article analyses the conditions and factors determining the effectiveness of the design of staff sourcing and selection process. The effectiveness of this process relates to its efficiency whilst taking into account the extent of realization of required activities as well as to optimal selection of methods and instruments allowing the efficient organization of those activities. The treatment of the personnel acquisition process and selection as a sequence of ordered projects implemented in a chronological order allowed to separate three basic steps which are the subject of investigations of each part of the study. Therefore, the analysis includes:‒ The stage of planning quality staff needs along with the description of vacant jobs and the creation of job profiles of candidates;‒ The stage of preparation and organisation of the recruiting process of new employees;‒ The stage of development of potential employees selection scenario including the final evaluation phase which enables to make a rational decision on choosing the most suitable candidate for the job amongst them.The final part of the article presents the new trends in the design of an effective process of personnelselection designed to encourage a qualitative change in attracting valuable employees by theorganisation.
