Determination of angle of attack for rotating blades
Journal Title: INCAS BULLETIN - Year 2012, Vol 4, Issue 2
Abstract
For a rotating blade the flow passing by a blade section is bended due to the rotation and the local flow field is influenced by the bound circulation on the blade. As a further complication, 3-D effects from tip and root vortices do a precise definition of the angle of attack (AOA) a difficult task. Two methods for determining the AOA on rotating blade from velocity and pressure measurements are presented.

A magneto rheological hybrid damper for railway vehicles suspensions
High speed railway vehicles features a specific lateral oscillation resulting from the coupled lateral displacement and yaw of the wheelset which leads to a sinusoid movement of the wheelset along the track, transferred...
Evaluation of High Lift System with Oscillatory Blowing in 2.5D Configuration
Following the successful results of the test campaign on 2D configuration of the oscillatory blowing system in the flap gap of the INCAS F15 wind tunnel model, extensive evaluation of the 2.5D effects have been initiated...
A Ready Reckoner of CFD for Wrap-around Fins
This paper aims to review computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis of wraparound fins (WAF). An effort in the search of a benchmark computational fluid dynamics model for future studies has been made in this paper. It...
Simplified Mathieu’s equation with linear friction
Consider a second order differential linear periodic equation. The friction coefficient is real positive constant. Some transformation of the solution and its first derivative allow writing two-order differential equatio...
Dangerous entry into the aircraft fuel tank – Introduction of mobil robot
This paper focuses on the dangers assoicated with entry into aircraft fuel tank. The analysis will help to demonstrate that in the future a mobil robot will make this work easier for the human factor. There are number of...
