Vortex theory of the ideal wind turbine
Journal Title: INCAS BULLETIN - Year 2009, Vol 1, Issue 2
Abstract
Based on the concepts outlined by Joukowsky nearly a century ago, an analytical aerodynamic optimization model is developed for rotors with a finite number of blades and constant circulation distribution. In the paper we show the basics of the new model and compare its efficiency with results for rotors designed using the optimization model of Betz.

Tribological performance of the blend PBT and short aramid fibers
Polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) and its aramid fiber composite (10 wt.%) were investigated in order to measure their wear and frictional properties under variations of applied load (5 N, 10 N, 15N) and velocity (0.25 m/...
Air Quality – monitoring and modelling
Air pollution is a major concern for all nations, regardless of their development. The rapid growth of the industrial sector and urban development have lead to significant quantities of substances and toxic materials, mo...
Analysis of low Reynolds number flow past Gurney flap
The trailing edge region of a single element wing fitted with Gurney flap at low Reynolds numbers has been studied. The complex flow separation phenomena on airfoils with Gurney flap at low Reynolds numbers have some sp...
