DETERMINATION OF FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE WITH TOPSIS MULTICRITERIA DECISION MAKING METHOD: AN APPLICATION ON TEXTILE, WEARING, APPAREL AND LEATHER INDUSTRY ENTERPRISES

Abstract
In this study, financial performances of 15 Textile, Wearing, Apparel and Leather industry enterprises whose shares are traded in Borsa Istanbul are analyzed with TOPSIS method by using financial statements for the period 2012-2016. TOPSIS method, which is one of the multi-criteria decision making methods, allows alternative choices to be evaluated according to certain criteria and a ranking to be made. For this reason, the performance evaluation and ranking of the enterprises were carried out by using the TOPSIS method. In the scope of the study, ratios such as Current Ratio, Quick Ratio, Inventory Turnover, Fixed Asset Turnover Ratio Asset Turnover Ratio, Debt to Total Assets Ratio, Net Profit Margin, Return on Equity are calculated by using the balance sheet and income tables of the examined enterprises and these calculated rates are used to calculate their performance scores. As a result of the TOPSIS method; the enterprises with the highest score received the first row.
