DETERMINATION OF PARAMETERS OF ROCK BANDS WITH LIMITED SUPPLENESS

Abstract
Purpose. Parameter determination of the protection method of the rock band with limited suppleness considering the main influencing factors for operational and safe conditions of mine workings, which are protected behind the longwall. Methodology. Laboratory studies on the structural models; analytical and experimental method, which is based on the points of the mechanics of granular media have been used. Results. The parameters of the new method of the mine workings protection of rock bands with limited suppleness depending on the main influencing factors have been determined. Originality. A new resource-efficient method to protect the mine workings has been suggested. Prac- tical value. Implementation of a new method of protection will provide operational and safe conditions of opening mine workings. Сonclusions. It has been found that the suggested method requires 3-4 times less rocks than for gob pack and its suppleness can be up to 8 %. The dependences of the width of the rock construction from the main influencing factors have been obtained. The results can be used in the future to improve this method. References 10, figures 10.
