Determination of rational conditions of application of rock layered milling combines on iron ore pits

Abstract
The method of determining the effective use of milling type surface miners for the use of non-blasting technology of layer milling of rocks during open exploration of iron ore deposits has been improved. The non-blasting technology is unconventional, but in the presence of optimal technological parameters of surface miners it is possible to reduce the cost of extraction of iron ore raw materials. In the work, the methods of theoretical and experimental research of the work of layer-by-layer milling combines are used. The methods take into account the results of operation of this high-performance excavation-loading equipment in domestic and foreign scientific works. The presented method increases the efficiency of the use of combines layer-by-layer milling in complex geological and mining conditions of open pit mining, reduces the cost of mining due to the lack of drilling and blasting. Optimization of parameters of elements of system of mining is carried out, allows the milling combine carries out mining of the massif of rocks with an opportunity to fulfill a ledge of much bigger height in comparison with a traditional way of mining of the massif, and also at safe and much smaller width of a working platform of a ledge. That allows you to improve the technical and economic performance of the open pit by increasing the angles of slopes of the sides of the pit. The use of technology of layer-by-layer milling of rocks by surface miners significantly reduces the negative impact on the environment, increases the efficiency of mining. Moreover, milling combines carry out testing of the rock massif of the ledge with the already specified parameters of the elements of the mining system of the current technology of open pit mining in compliance with all technological standards.
