DETERMINATION OF THE RATIONAL LOCATION FOR A PASSENGER STATION SERVING HIGH-SPEED TRAINS IN A LARGE RAILWAY JUNCTION

Abstract

The scientific approaches concerning calculation and optimization of high-speed lines parameters were analyzed. The analysis showed that the issue of rational location of passenger stations for the servicing of high-speed trains at large railway junctions were not sufficiently considered. The coordinates of subway stations, business centers, settlements and monuments of a large metropolis, coordinates of the settlement points of streets and avenues with intensive traffic and coordinates of points of entry of railway lines to the city are determined. The weighting coefficients of the target function were calculated. The results of calculating these coefficients indicate that the most significant parameter is the distance from the passenger station to the subway station. The rational location of the passenger station for servicing high-speed trains at the railway station was determined. The passenger railway station in this place can not be located. Therefore, two alternative variants of station placement on the site of the existing stations of railway junction nearest to the optimal location were proposed. In order to choose the best option, it is proposed to perform detailed technical and economic calculations.
