Determination of Winter Chickpea Genotypes That Can Be Grown In Şirnak-Idil Conditions

Journal Title: ISPEC Journal of Agricultural Sciences - Year 2022, Vol 6, Issue 1

Abstract

The research was carried out to determine the chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) genotypes that can be grown in Şırnak-Idil conditions. In the research, total of 15 chickpea geotypes, including 12 chickpea line and 3 control varieties (Arda, Azkan, Hasanbey) were used as material. The research was carried out according to the randomized comlete blocks (RCB) design with 3 replications in the winter growing season of 2020-2021. Although it varies according to genotypes, as a result of the research, the number of days until flowering, the number of days until the pod, plant height, first pod height, the number of branches in the plant, the number of pods per plant, the number of full pods per plant, the number of grains, grain weight, grain yield, 100 grain weight and the harvest index varied between 156.7-118.7 days, 169.0-157.3 days, 29.9-54.7 cm, 14.5-30.0 cm, 2.3-4.3 number, 44.2-15.0 number, 42.6-13.0 number, 13.3-44.9 number, 8.7-14.0 g, 166.8 -100.7 kg da-1; 27.7-42.3 g and 33.9- 42.1%, respectively. As a result, it has been determined that FLIP 03-108 C and EN 1683 chickpea genotypes stand out in terms of yield and yield-related characteristics in Şırnak-Idil ecological conditions. As a result, it was determined that FLIP 03-108 C and EN 1683 chickpea genotypes were superior to control varieties and other genotypes in the experiment in terms of yield and yield-related characteristics in Şırnak-İdil ecological conditions. It has been concluded that the mentioned geotypes will be transferred to the breeding programs as well as to continuing the adaptation studies with these genotypes in the regional conditions.
