DEVELOPING ACTIVE LEARNING INSTRUCTIONAL STRATEGIES IN ENGLISH FOR PSYCHOLOGY COURSE

Abstract

The widespread use of the English language as an international means of communication is continuously expanding. This fact is reflected in diverse fields and in numerous spheres where the English language is considered as a working tool. In order to reach particular aims, the countries all over the world, including Armenia, introduce English courses at all the levels of the educational system particularly at the university through ESP. The latter is the widespread and well established teaching methodology that the language teachers actually use to achieve the learners' specific needs and meet their expectations. Therefore, we have chosen to scrutinize thoroughly a specific branch of the ESP; which is meant to teach English to Psychology students. To accomplish the following purpose, a paramount importance is given to the methodology of teaching ESP to the students who acquire the knowledge of Psychology.
