Development and challenges of neuro-stimulus fusion to consciousness
Journal Title: Journal of Air Force Medical University - Year 2023, Vol 44, Issue 10
Abstract
The research of neuro-stimulus fusion to consciousness (NSFC) has gone through eight years. It does not abandon psychological measurement, one of the traditional methods of consciousness research, but gives new life to this traditional research by adding modern cognitive neurotechnology and artificial intelligence technology elements. By reviewing the historical origin of the relationship between psychometrics and consciousness research, this paper discusses the theoretical basis and research value of NSFC from two aspects: the basic idea of NSFC and the concept of consciousness research. Then, it expounds the research methods, research progress and existing challenges of NSFC from three research directions: consciousness awakening effect, establishment of natural corpus and analysis of multi-model data fusion. NSFC is an innovative work, which will bring new prospects for the development of traditional psychometrics. However, the biggest challenge is the construction and standard establishment of multi-modal data fusion model, which becomes a barrier to the application of this technology.
