Development and Validation of Spectrophotometric Method for Simultaneous Estimation of Olmesartan Medoxomil and Metoprolol Succinate in Bulk and Dosage Form
Journal Title: Journal of Pharmacy Research - Year 2011, Vol 4, Issue 12
Abstract
Two UV Spectrophotometric methods have been developed for the simultaneous estimation of Olmesartan medoxomil and Metoprolol succinate in tablet dosage form using 0.1 N NaOH. First UV spectrophotometric method is simultaneous equation method at 248 nm and 274 nm. Second UV spectrophotometric method is area under curve method; area under curve in the range of 246-250 nm (for Olmesartan medoxomil) and 272-276 nm (for Metoprolol succinate) were selected for analysis. In both methods, linearity was found to be in the range of 1-12 µg/ml for Olmesartan medoxomil and 5-30 µg/ml for Metoprolol succinate. Proposed methods were found to be accurate, precise and reproducible and have been validated statistically.
