Development of phase shifter for control of linear and circular polarized television signals

Abstract

The article is devoted to the development of radio frequency MEMS phase shifters, the study of their characteristics and values in the field of wireless communication, as well as various types of analysis for checking the operation of the radio frequency phase rotator in graphical form, which are implemented as integral transmission lines on multilayered dielectric foundations. The possibility of waveguide controlled phase rotator by 90 degrees on the basis of microelectromechanical elements integrated into the electrodynamic structure, which directly affects the general wave phase shift, propagating along the waveguide and creating on this basis a polarization transformer from a linear to a circle and vice versa, is investigated. Application of the polarization methods of selection of received signals allows to increase the bandwidth of the channel by almost twice. Серія: Технічні науки 304 Using the computer program «CST Microwave Studio» a detailed analysis of the distribution of currents and voltages of the electrodynamic structure, taken as the basis of the created controlled rotating phase shaker, is used to select the most sensitive areas for connecting the switching elements. The influence of geometrical sizes on the characteristics under study (phase shift and its immutability in a given frequency range, reflection coefficient and wave propagation) in different positions of the switching element are investigated. The method of the expected experimental research is developed and the appropriate instruments and elements of the measuring scheme are selected.
