DEVELOPMENT OF WEATHER STATION BASED ON ARDUINO FOR STUDYING PRINCIPLES OF CREATION MICROPROCESSOR CONTROL SYSTEMS

Abstract
Purpose. The design and implementation of a financially affordable and a functionally higher-end meteorological station using an Arduino microcontroller. Such survey will allow students to study principles of designing, development, programming and operating electronic devices basing on low-cost Arduino components. Originality. The paper deals with the research on surveys for development of a low-cost prototype of meteorological station using modern equipment and technologies. Methodology. The paper proposes one of the possibilities for development low-cost weather station using Arduino platform. Authors described whole development process starting from station design, choosing platform and electronic elements, developing hardware and electrical circuit solutions, and ending up with algorithmic and software solutions and also experimental verification of derived results. Results. In the article it was described principles of designing and development of low-cost electronic devices based on Arduino platform. This article is focused to the weather station based on Arduino platform. The Arduino is general used platform where programmer can do a lot of prototypes such as weather station. This weather station includes real time module for showing actual date and time, temperature sensor and humidity sensor (2 in 1) and barometric pressure sensor. The weather station can be extended by adding a wind speed meter. Proposed solutions could be used in educational process for studying principles of designing and development electrotechnical devices basing on modern components.
