DHT - Reducing Energy Cost and Identifying Duplicate Nodes in Wireless Sensor Networks

Abstract

Wireless sensor networks is a collection of sensor nodes scattered over an area for data collection. But the main problem is the danger of the node clone, which arises due to the low-cost, resource-constrained, distributed sensor nodes. To identify node clone, distributed hash table (DHT) is proposed which a fully decentralized, keybased caching and checking system. This distributed detection protocol provides good communication performance for large sensor networks. Sensor-MAC, a new MAC protocol is explicitly designed for wireless sensor networks for reducing energy consumption and detecting the node clone. This protocol also has good scalability and collision avoidance capability.
