Mushroom poisoning causing phalloides syndrome is a health hazard. Mortality in these poisonings is 10-60%. Fast implementation of specific treatment is indeed one factor influencing the prognosis. Hence, the proper diagnosis of patients with phalloides syndrome occurrence is very likely, may help to alleviate symptoms, and often to cure poison.Due to the fact that collecting and eating mushrooms in Poland is becoming increasingly popular, and intoxication with poisonous species are a significant problem the authors decided to discuss based on data from the literature and their own experience, the clinical symptoms, diagnosis and treatment of phalloides syndrome. In all cases, the first mushroom poisoning symptoms are gastrointestinal symptoms: nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain and diarrhea. A key task of the hospital medical emergency department is the diversity of hard to digest food intolerance symptoms of mushroom poisoning gastrointestinal irritant mushrooms, especially wild mushrooms from poison-containing cytotoxic cyclic polypeptides, which cause severe damage to internal organs (mainly lightning liver failure) and may lead to death.Subjective test is particularly important in the diagnosis of mushroom poisoning. Carefully gathered subjective examinations eliminates trivial rhinitis gastrointestinal and identify patients who require long observation and careful diagnosis of phalloides syndrome. The authors discuss in detail how to examine subjective patient with suspected mushroom poisoning. An important element is to discuss mycological investgations, toxicology and other laboratory tests. The combination of subjective test results, and additional question enables one to make the correct diagnosis of phalloides syndrome and implementation of appropriate treatment. It may, as mentioned above, help to alleviate symptoms and even survival poisoned.
