Dialektyka i synteza. O Pascalowskiej filozofii człowieka

Journal Title: Studia Europaea Gnesnensia - Year 2015, Vol 11, Issue

Abstract

This attempt sets out to outline the singularity of anthropological thought of Blaise Pascal, the leading precursor of existential philosophy and one of the most eminent scholars of the 17th century. The author highlights the fundamental Pascalian conclusion that the human, regardless of the subjective acts of thinking or action, is altogether “fated” to themselves and, as an individual, they are frequently the object of their own, subjective claims and demands. The presentation and elucidation of the issue, based on analytical-critical research methodology, will be supplemented with the existentialist context of Pascal’s deliberations.
