Dieffenbachia picta micropropagation
Journal Title: Biotecnología Vegetal - Year 2001, Vol 1, Issue 1
Abstract
Dieffenbachia picta is an ornamental aroid of foliage with high commercial value. With the purpose of achieving a micropropagation protocol, experiments were developed in the establishment stage, multiplication and adaptation ex vitro. It was determined that the inactive axillary buds are adapted as explant according to their percentage of contamination, survival and growth. The establishment of these buds was effective to the 120 days with combinations of BAP (0.5 and 1.0 mg.l-1) and AIA (0.1 and 1.9 mg.l-1). The multiplication was obtained in the second reculture with high citoquinina level (16. mg.l-1 of 2iP) and tipped of the explants. The shoots took root in the phase II and they adapted appropriately to the conditions ex vitro.

Determination by AFLP of the genetic stability of cassava plants obtained by somatic embryogenesis and organogenesis
AFLP techniques have been reported to determine the genetic stability at a molecular level of cassava plants propagated by several methods: somatic embryogenesis, organogenesis and field conditions. CMC-76, CEMSA 74-7...
Biotechnological tools against Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense Tropical race 4 in Musa spp.
Panama disease caused by Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense (Foc) is one of the most damaging diseases attacking Musa worldwide. Race 1 caused an epidemic that destroyed the banana export industry based cultivar ‘Gros M...
Minimum polyethylene glycol 6000 concentration for selecting Musa spp. in vitro plants tolerant to water stress
Increasingly intense droughts are an abiotic factor which has affected bananas and plantains (Musa spp.) production, therefore it is necessary to obtain tolerant genotypes. Plants in vitro selection offers advantages o...
