Dietary patterns in basic education students after the confinement period due to covid-19

Abstract

Introduction:Eating patterns significantly influence the quality of life of children. These patterns show the way they eat and are inherited until adulthood; Eating patterns play a crucial role in your physical, social and psychological growth and development, significantly influencing your life. Understanding eating patterns in the school environment is essential to promoting children's well-being. Objective:The objective of this research was to analyze the relationship between dietary patterns before and after the COVID-19 pandemic and determine the nutritional status of high school students in Imbabura, Ecuador. Materials and methods:A field research of a descriptive nature was carried out with a quantitative approach with a population of 100 basic secondary education students between 8 and 10 years old. The techniques used were the Krecer Plus questionnaire, taking anthropometric measurements such as weight, height, BMI, and data analysis in the WHO Anthro Plus software Results: The main results found were childrenin normal nutritional status, a percentage of the population is at risk of obesity and obesity. Conclusion:Children maintain eating patterns considered regular according to the Krece Plus evaluation, and no significant changes are shown after the confinement period
