DIFFERENCES OF MOTOR ABILITIES OF 7-11 YEARS OLD CHILDREN ACCORDING TO GENEDER

Abstract

A bat tery of 8 mo tor tests has been ap plied on the sam ple of 1071 chil dre (589 boys and 482 girls) in nur se ri es in the re gion of Voj vo di na. The aim was to analyze the dif fe ren ces in mo tor abi li ti es bet we en boys and girls, 7-11 years old . By ap pli ca tion of t-test for in de pen dent sam ples, it was de ter mi ned that the boys we re sig ni fi cantly bet ter in tests eva lu a ting the co or di na tion of the body and ex plo si ve strength, whe re as the girls we re bet ter in fl e xi bi lity. The aut hors in ter pret the se dif fe ren ces as due to the boys’ tendency to prac ti ce mo re di ver si fi ed and mo re in ten si ve forms of mo ve ment, and by an incre a sed in te rest of the girls for qu i et and less dyna mic ga mes with hig her con cen tra tion of at ten tion and hig her am pli tu de of mo ve ment. In ad di tion, gre a ter dif fe ren ces bet we en boys and girls not only in mo tor fi elds but al so in ot her an thro po lo gi cal di men si ons can al so be ex pla i ned by the fact that the growth and de ve lop ment trends are hig her in boys than in girls.
