Different effects of postnatal caffeine treatment on two pentylenetetrazole-induced seizure models persist into adulthood.
Journal Title: Pharmacological Reports - Year 2013, Vol 65, Issue 4
Abstract
Postnatal treatment with caffeine from P7 to P11 (10 or 20 mg/kg daily) resulted in transient changes in two pentylenetetrazole (PTZ)-induced models of epileptic seizures characterized by spike-and-wave EEG rhythm in immature rats. To know if some changes persist into adulthood we studied these models in young adult Wistar rats.

Synergistic interaction of gabapentin with tiagabine in the hot-plate test in mice: an isobolographic analysis.
This study was aimed at determining the analgesic effect of gabapentin and tiagabine, two antiepileptic drugs that were administered alone and in combination at a fixed ratio of 1:1, in the acute thermal pain model (hot-...
Pharmacological activity of calcimimetic NPS R-568 administered intravenously in rats: dose dependency.
Calcimimetics administered orally cause "pharmacological parathyroidectomy" confirmed by a decrease in parathyroid hormone secretion (PTH) and in plasma Ca(2+) concentration. Parathyroidsare also the source of parathyroi...
Participation of adenosine system in the ketamine-induced motor activity in mice.
The influence of adenosine receptor ligands on ketamine-induced locomotor activity was studied in mice. Ketamine-induced hyperactivity (10 mg/kg) was significantly and dose-dependently attenuated by CGS 21680 (selective...
Vasopressor and heart rate responses to systemic administration of bombesin in anesthetized rats.
The aim of the present study was to investigate the effects of aortic depressor nerve (ADN) transection, supranodosal vagi denervation (NG vagi cut) and adrenergic receptor blocker treatment on the cardiovascular respons...
