Abstract
The article is devoted to the well-known teacher and historian Artem Grigorevich Gotalov-Gottlieb (1866-1960), a person which made a huge contribution to the national pedagogy, history of pedagogy and pedology. Illuminated career of the multi-faceted scientists and researchers; characterized his personality traits and his life attitude. Considered problems of formation and development of scientific career, and outlined professors social life.
