DIFFUSION LAYERS FORMED ON STEEL AND THEIR WEAR BEHAVIOUR
Journal Title: Tribologia - Year 2016, Vol 267, Issue 3
Abstract
The article presents the results of investigations of wear resistance by friction, employing the “3 cylinder-cone” method, of selected structural and tool steels, subjected to given thermo-chemical treatment, i.e. boriding, carburizing, nitriding and chromizing. It was observed that a proportionality exists between their wear resistance and the value of surface unit loading. Moreover, the friction-wear properties of these layers exhibited certain differences, dependent on their microstructure and chemistry.

TRIBOLOGICAL PROPERTIES OF THE PLASTICALLY CONSOLIDATED ALUMINIUM POWDERS
The results of the tribological tests performed on the aluminium (1070 grade) produced by rapid solidification and plastic consolidation powders are presented in the article. The results were compared to solid aluminium...
TRIBOLOGICAL PROPERTIES OF VEGETABLE OILS AS POTENTIAL LUBRICANT BASES
The paper presents the test results of the antiwear and extreme-pressure properties of vegetable oils. They were compared to mineral machine oil L-AN 46 without additives. Wear scars were analysed during tribological exa...
ANALYSIS OF THE PROCESS OF WEAR OF A BRONZE–ALLOY CAST IRON KINEMATIC PAIR UNDER MIXED FRICTION CONDITIONS
The paper presents the results of model studies of wear under mixed friction conditions of the worm–worm rack kinematic pair, where the worm is made of bronze CUA19Fe3, while the worm rack is of alloy cast iron. This pai...
The mechanical properties of PVD coatings deposited on nitrided CoCrMo alloy
The paper concerns the evaluation of mechanical properties of the composite: ‘nitrided layer-PAPVD coating’ created on CoCrMo alloy intended for biotribological applications.

Five nitriding processes with varyin...
THE EFFECT OF WATER LUBRICATION WITH ADDITION OF NON-IONIC AND ANIONIC SURFACTANTS ON THE WEAR OF THE FRICTION PAIR WITH A CONCENTRATED CONTACT
In order to minimize losses caused by friction, various technical solutions are applied. Most frequently, however, they are limited to proper lubrication. Two aspects of the problem have to be taken into consideration no...
